By my count we've now seen three trailers for In Time, the Andrew Niccol-directed thriller starring Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried. The first was a teaser shown at Comic Con and debuting online a few days later, setting up in very basic text the concept of a future in which time, not money, is the primary unit of currency. Timberlake plays a working class guy who, for mysterious reasons, is handed years and years of time by a rich man with a death wish. He's then forced to go on the run from the authorities who think he's murdered the man, and takes with him as a hostage Amanda Seyfried, the daughter of one of the wealthiest men in his city (played by Mad Men's Vincent Kartheiser).

That trailer was followed up quickly by another trailer that premiered at Access Hollywood but mysteriously disappeared not long after. Now a third, glorious HD trailer has finally shown up at Apple, and you can also watch it embedded below. It's the best of the three, clearly establishing the rules of this world while also hinting at some excellent chase scenes, and even giving us the unsettling sight of Olivia Wilde playing Justin Timberlake's mom (remember, in this world, your wealth = time, and that means you never age). Check it all out below.

I've been really skeptical about this movie ever since its lackluster Comic Con panel, but there's something in this that clicks for me, whether the straightforward explanation of the concept or the intense Cillian Murphy lurking in the background-- more Murphy is never a bad thing. Or maybe I just dig Amanda Seyfried's brunette bob. Either way, I'm willing to give this one a shot when it comes to theaters in late October, a time of year when we could always use a sci-fi thriller with a slightly thoughtful twist.
