Leighton Meester Gets Creepy In The First Photo From The Roommate

And I thought my freshman year roommate experience was bad. In The Roommate, a college freshman named Sara is randomly assigned to live with another girl named Rebecca. Maybe she’s smelly, maybe she’s messy, but the major problem is that Rebecca goes a little wacko, becomes obsessed with Sara and goes after the people she’s closest to. Screen Gems doesn’t have the film hitting theaters until September 17th, 2010, but they've already released the first photo from the movie.

The image, courtesy of Shock Till You Drop, features our two leading ladies, Leighton Meester and Minka Kelly. Clearly Meester plays the creeper. I can’t wait to see her step out of Gossip Girl’s Blair Waldorf’s shadow, especially for a character so eccentric. As for Kelly, I don’t watch Friday Night Lights and her role in (500) Days of Summer was minute, so she’s starting with a fresh slate for this one. Twilight’s Cam Gigandet also stars in the film.
