If ever there’s a movie that’s aiming to send hearts aflutter, it’s the upcoming film adaptation of Nicholas Sparks’ 2008 novel The Lucky One. The trailer for the film is as heavy on romance and heartache as the movie itself is likely to be.

Destiny awaits in The Lucky One as Zac Efron plays a Marine who returns from three tours in Iraq to track down a woman whose photo he believes saved his life. As is the case in other Nicholas Sparks books, and their film adaptations, it seems as though romance, disappointment, frustration and a lot of drama is in store for viewers with this movie.

No one said true love came easy, right? Joining Efron in the cast is Taylor Schilling, playing his potential love interest, and Blythe Danner, who seems to be serving as the extra nudge these two young people need to fall for one another.


As the trailer indicates, The Lucky One is set to release in theaters this spring.
