There are a couple of ingredients Mad Max fans want to see in any sequel, so this new video should be encouraging. Itís set in an arid desert landscape (which is essential). It shows futuristically bulky war-machine vehicles racing through this desert environment (also essential). They should be moving much faster, a crashing into each other with bloody fury Ö but Iím sure that will come in time.

This on-set video was captured by YouTube member Joosch Heinzer (and shared via Bleeding Cool) on the Namibia set of Mad Max: Fury Road, the fourth chapter of the post-apocalyptic film series that will be directed by George Miller but boasts a change in cast. More on that after the video, which gives us a great look at some of the new vehicles being used in the sequel.

Tom Hardy takes over Mel Gibsonís role as ďMadĒ Max Rockatansky, a guardian who agrees to protect a convoy as they cross the Wasteland in a War Rig. From what we can tell, it will be a sequel to Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome, even though it wonít address Maxís lack of aging (or the fact that heís now played by a different actor).

Hardy will be joined on screen by Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Nathan Jones, Zoe Kravitz, Riley Keough and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Millerís film doesnít have an official release date at the moment, though itís expected in theaters in 2014. Some have expressed a hope that it could be finished in time for a late 2013 release. Iíd rather Miller takes his time to get the sequel right. Wouldnít you?
