Who doesn't love The Beatles? Their music not only defined a generation, but has a timeless sound that ensures that even 100 years from now we'll still be listening to them. But then there is the age old question: what if The Beatles never broke up? That's the question director Mark Waters plans to answer.

Variety reports that the Mean Girls director has signed on to make Get Back, a comedy about two obsessed Beatles fans who decide to time-travel and prevent John Lennon from ever meeting Yoko Ono, who they believe is responsible for the band breaking up. The script was written by first-timer Chris McCoy and the plan is to go into production in late summer. Waters' next film, Mr. Popper's Penguins, recently completed production and is scheduled to be released on June 17.

With the right actors involved this could really be great. There's always a lot of room for comedy when it comes to time traveling and when you also have four people impersonating The Beatles it gets even better. Here's hoping Mark Waters can pull it off.
