After being stuck in development hell for years, George Clooney finally has The Ides of March (previously titled Farragut North), up and running. The actor director has already established one hell of a supporting cast, with himself, Ryan Gosling, Paul Giamatti, Marisa Tomei, Jeffrey Wright and Evan Rachel Wood all playing parts, but now he's added yet another, this one coming from one of this year's best films.
Deadline reports that Max Minghella, who played Winklevoss business partner Divya Narendra in David Fincher's The Social Network this past fall, has joined Clooney's passion project and fourth directorial effort as a character named Ben Harper. Based on the play Farragut North by Beau Willimon, the film is loosely based on the 2004 presidential campaign of Democratic candidate Howard Dean. The story centers on a press secretary played by Gosling who gets sucked up into the world of political back-room dealings. Just like everyone else in The Social Network, Minghella put on a fantastic performance as the vengeful Narendra. Though he's only starred in nine films thus far in his short career, he actually already did a movie with George Clooney when he played a role in Syriana back in 2005. The actor, who is only 25, shows a lot of promise and we'll probably be seeing even more of him in the years to come. Back to top
