McAvoy And Laurie Help Santa Deliver Toys In Aardman's Arthur Christmas
With the holiday season right around the corner, it’s high time advertising for next years holiday films gets kicked off and Sony and stop-motion animation magicians Aardman are leading the way. Arthur Christmashas just added two more big time stars to their cast in the accented forms of James McAvoy and Hugh Laurie. Yes, Dr. House is English.
The announcement comes from Deadline who also mention that Sony and Aardman are in cahoots for a movie called The Pirates! as well. Arthur Christmas, however, looks to attack the ever burning question of just how one jolly old fat man delivers toys to 6 billion people in just one night. Spoiler Alert: It has nothing to do with time zones or the rotation of the Earth, and everything to do with how Santa’s shop is run by his son Arthur (McAvoy) and his older brother Steve (Laurie).
No doubt that pair alone will put butts in seats, but they’ve been added to a cast already brimming with stars like Imelda Staunton, Jim Broadbent and Bill Nighy, who will undoubtedly laugh at the two newbies for never having been in a Harry Potter movie.
Not surprisingly, this film will follow the 3D CG mold of most kid’s movies these days and will hit theaters next November 23rd, hopefully enlightening us all to the inner working of Santa’s laboratory.
