Brace yourselves, Internet. This story contains Austin, Mondo AND Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings films … all in one post. If only the Twilight kids could re-enact The Dark Knight Rises as part of this post, it would become the greatest hit-whoring story in CinemaBlend history!

Alas, no vampires or Batman. Instead, Mondo held a screening of Mondo Mystery Movie X at the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar in Austin, Texas … revealing it to be Jackson’s trilogy-capping Return of the King. At that event, the company revealed a limited-edition LOTR print, designed by Aaron Horkey. We have two versions below:

The way the Mondo Mystery screenings work, collectors grab a ticket to an unknown film, knowing that each ticket comes with a guaranteed print. So collector’s likely were thrilled to learn that the screening (and the poster) were for Return of the King.

Weren’t in Austin to possibly grab this pretty print? We have good news. Alamo and Mondo have announced that this is the first in what will be a series – from various artists – that will celebrate Jackson’s Lord of the Rings films. Will we perhaps get posters for The Hobbit movies as well? San Diego Comic-Con is coming up next week. Wouldn’t that be a splashy way to honor the upcoming December release?
