There’s something odd about the first 20 minutes of the original Fame, something that I hope the new movie stays away from. You see, the original spent the first 20 minutes seemingly making fun of these ridiculous kids that, from the looks of it, had no business auditioning for a prestigious performing arts school. Then, at the end of the sequence, each and every one of the kids got in. Kind of dumb, right?

But then again, I saw at least the first 20 minutes of the original Fame (that’s all I’m admitting to), so who’s the loser now?

Anyway, the new Fame has another trailer with the same bright lights and random dance moves and still no semblance of a plot, other than pretty people wanting to get famous. Check it out for yourself over at Apple, the last place on the internet that doesn't let you embed trailers.
