New Girl With The Dragon Tattoo Images Show Craig And Mara Getting Serious

It’s the understatement of the century to say that I’m looking forward to David Fincher’s adaptation of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. There’s already a great Swedish adaptation available on Netflix (seriously, watch it), but the idea of Fincher behind this film and his probable involvement in the sequels has me giddy with anticipation.

So as you can imagine, every time new material gets released I’m quick to jump. Today, Empire got their hands on some fresh new stills from the film and they look great. Scope them out below or in higher res over at Empire.




The first two images give us glimpses of two very important relationships in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. You’ll see Daniel Craig as Mikael Blomkvist working with Henrik Vanger, played here by Christopher Plummer, the man who hired him to investigate the disappearance of his niece, Harriet. That pairing alone carries a lot of the book, but the infamous Lisbeth Salander, Rooney Mara, who later plays an integral part of the investigation, is seen in the second picture terrifying her legal guardian Nils Bjurman.

The final image looks like it comes from one of the film’s final scenes which I won’t describe for you because, well, spoilers. If you look closely though, you can see gas being pumped into the room via a system in the ceiling, and that never spells success. Rest assured it’s an excellent story and if you haven’t read it, find your local bookstore, which these days I know is not always easy, and pick up the $7 paperback. You’ll be glad you did.
