We post a lot of miserable and mediocre posters here on Cinema Blend, so when some movie artwork comes around that is actually good, we like to celebrate it. Enter the new poster for John Cameron Mitchell's Rabbit Hole.

Having caught the film at AFI Fest earlier this month (you can read my review here), I can assure you that the artwork reflects well on a truly fantastic film. The movie stars Nicole Kidman and Aaron Eckhart as two parents who have lost their young son in a car accident and are faced with the incredible struggles in trying to overcome the tragedy. Check out the new poster below, which premiered over at Cinematical, and join me after for some analysis.

While the clip doesn't show the lighter side of the film that I loved so much, this is a truly great poster. Though not nearly as simple as the movie's first one-sheet, the new artwork beautifully displays the range of grief experienced in the film while also effectively showing off its two main actors. I also love that the bars are of uneven sizes, which adds a perfect touch and makes everything seem a little off-kilter, reflecting the emotional state. In summation: this is how you make a poster, people. For more on Rabbit Hole, head on over to our Blend Film Database and be sure to check the film out when it hits theaters on December 17.
