news:blended 10.11 - 10.17 Too lazy to read all the wonderful news our insightful crew scours the globe to bring you every day? Too outmoded to have an MP3 player for the podcast? Shame on you all! However, being the generous lot we are, welcome to news:blended, your weekly guide to the most interesting stories reported on Cinema Blend over the last seven days.

The Twilight fans outdid themselves in knee-jerk reaction and defense of their beloved books and movie this week. I am literally counting the days until this movie is over and faded into memory. Right now there are….um….around 30? 50? Something like that. Yup, I’m counting those days.

SATURDAY
Alice through the Burton glass.
We’re all in hell together.
We got some pictures on Saturday. There were the official, prettified boring pictures from High School Musical 3. There were also the unofficial, blurry boring pictures of Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. Boring is how I would describe them, but you might find them fascinating. Better check them out and decide for yourself.

SUNDAY
At least we are consistently stupid.
Beverly Hills Chihuahua was the number one movie in America…again. I got nothing to say about that.

MONDAY
The game’s afoot.
It’s not Blade Runner, so do you really care?
Monday started off a little slow but we did get to see picture of Jude Law and Robert Downey, Jr. and how rare is that? Actually, it’s not rare at all, but this time they are dressed in costumes of Old Tyme England. Well, not that Old Tyme but maybe a hundred or so years ago. Ridley Scott is going in the other direction and might make a movie about a space war in the future. It’s based on a really famous book I’ve never heard of.

TUESDAY
He’s just a writer, what does he know.
This will be never ending…like a beautiful, sensitive, pale vampire.
There was some sequel stuff getting its groove on Tuesday. First, the writer of the three Pirates of the Caribbean movies said there was no truth to any rumors (including those broken by this site) about the fourth movie. I thought he would have spent his time apologizing for the lame script he churned out for the third movie, but he chose another way to go. Also it’s fun to read the comments section for other sequel news, like the possible Twilight sequel. Here’s one example of someone noting that everyone has a right to an opinion unless your opinion is that Twilight is simplistic twaddle…”everyone has a right to express their (sic) thoughts or visions... fuck off!” Well said my friend.

WEDNESDAY
Even in a revisionist sense, this movie sucks ass.
It ain’t easy being both green and increasingly irrelevant.
I’m usually down with Mack Rawden. I agree with almost everything says and love how he says it. If you aren’t reading him you are missing out on the best this site has to offer (mostly he’s over in music.) That said, he writes that The Rock is a good movie, which means he’s also an idiot. A funny idiot, but still. Speaking of funny idiots, how about those Muppets. Actually, they aren’t idiots and that was a lame transition. Still, there might be a new Muppet movie for adults. That’s what I’m looking for, a little Muppet porn. Nice.

THURSDAY
Damn it, Jim! I’m a doctor, not a side by side photo comparison expert!
Our eye on the Oscars.
Ok, the Star Trek nerds and geeks are alive and well, thank god. I’d really assumed that whole thing sorta died out awhile back, but they show up in our comment section when we posted side by side photos of the new and old Trek actors in costume. Remember, these are actors in costumes, pretending to fly in space. Everyone understands that, right? Good, that means we can turn our attention to predicting the Best Picture winner. It doesn’t matter that 95% of the movies that will be in contention haven’t been released, only wusses wait until the last minute. Katey is no wuss.

FRIDAY
Learn about OPS and learn it well my stat nerds.
The not so secret life of interviewing actors.
They are making a movie about a fantastic and popular book and I’m sure you are as excited about it as I am. That’s right, Michael Lewis’ “Moneyball” is heading to the big screen. It’s a fascinating story, well told, and there isn’t a pale, hot, sensitive vampire in sight. Let the squealing from stat geeks begin. Sophie Okonedo doesn’t squeal, but she does talk about her new movie with Queen Latifah and Dakota Fanning. I checked to see if she ripped Fanning as being in too many movies and maybe needing to take a little breather…but she doesn’t.

That’s all for another week of news blending. It’s like what you get at Jamba Juice, but cheaper and not quite as healthy. If you liked it or didn’t, leave some feedback.
