Our Exclusive You're Next Poster Has Killers Staring You Down
Thanks to Halloween, October is typically seen as the prime season for horror films, but this year one of the best recent entries in the genre will be arriving earlier that that. After debuting at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival and blowing off the doors at SXSW earlier this year, Adam Wingard's You're Next is finally hitting theaters next week and we have an exclusive new poster to mark the occasion. Click the image to see it in its highest resolution!
As you can probably guess looking at the one-sheet above, this is only one piece in a much larger puzzle. Various sites around the internet, including Screen Crush, Shock Til You Drop, DreadCentral, Collider, and Bloody Disgusting, have received their own exclusive posters as well, and we assume that when they are all put together they will form out the title of the film - which also happens to be an extremely threatening note featured in the movie itself. We've started to collect all of the posters into a mosaic below, and I will continue to fill it in as more of the letters appear online.
Scripted by Simon Barrett, You're Next begins as a well-to-do family comes together for a reunion, the adult children of the family all bringing their significant others. Unfortunately, what they don't see coming is the trio of masked assassins that make it very clear they want the entire family dead. But what the killers don't know is that one of the people in the house is actually quite well-trained in the art of survival. Sharni Vinson, AJ Bowen, Nick Tucci, Wendy Glenn, Joe Swanberg, Rob Moran, Barbara Crampton, Maragaret Laney, Amy Seimetz, Ti West, and Larry Fessenden make up the ensemble cast.
I was present when the movie had its United States premiere down in Austin, TX during SXSW, and I was absolutely blown away by the film. Not only is it clever and well directed, it is also scary as hell and will make audience members jump out of their seats regularly during screenings. Vinson in particular is a standout, and if you make You're Next a hit she could become a star.
In case the poster at the top of this article isn't unnerving enough for you (those masks are absolutely terrifying), be sure to watch the trailer below, which will give you a solid taste of what you can expect from the film scare-wise.
