Paranormal Activity seems to be coming up a lot recently. Just yesterday we learned that the trailer for Paranormal Activity 4 would make its online debut tomorrow. And last week, we learned that Paranormal Activity 3 star Christopher Smith had been cast in the CBS pilot Ex-Men, joining Kal Penn in the comedy project. It looks like Smith is lining up work lately because he's been cast in the upcoming Nicole Holofcener's feature project, joining James Gandolfini and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
Per Variety, Smith is set to join writer/director Nicole Holofcener's yet-to-be-titled feature dramedy for Fox Searchlight, playing "a young man who Louis-Dreyfus' masseuse character meets prior to falling for her new friend's husband, who will be played by Gandolfini." Sounds complicated. The cast is certainly off to a good start, though. And in addition to directing numerous TV series episodes (Parks and Recreation, Bored to Death are among her recent credits) Holofcener's credits include Please Give and Friends with Money, both of which she wrote and directed. As for Smith, he may be somewhat recognizable for playing the boyfriend/stepdad-type/wedding videographer in third Paranormal Activity film. But he he spent a fair amount of time behind the camera in that movie, so his voice might be a bit more recognizable than his face. We may eventually see him on CBS' Ex Men, should the pilot go to series. And he has a part in the upcoming Mira Nair thriller The Reluctant Fundamentalist. On a related note, while it's unlikely that we'll see Smith in Paranormal Activity 4, we'll get our first proper look at the movie when the trailer for the sequel (or prequel?) arrives tomorrow. In the meantime, you can check out the teaser for it here. Back to top
