Robert De Niro Looks Creepy In First Teaser Trailer For Red Lights

In 2010 director Rodrigo Cortes amazed audiences with his thriller Buried, a film with only one on-screen actor (Ryan Reynolds) and one setting (a box buried underground). The movie received incredible buzz out of the Sundance Film Festival and Cortes became a director that people wanted to work with. His next film, Red Lights, stars Robert De Niro, Signourney Weaver, Cillian Murphy, Toby Jones, Elizabeth Olsen, and Joely Richardson and today, courtesy of MTV, we have the first teaser trailer. I'm not sure that teaser could tell us less about the film if it tried. While I understand why a film would want to be cryptic in its marketing, I'm not sure there's enough here for people to get excited about. The story is about a psychologist named Margaret Matheson (Weaver, who, along with her assistant (Olsen), begins to study paranormal activity. Their research eventually leads them to an investigation of a world-renowned psychic (De Niro). The film doesn't currently have a distributor in the United States, but it's expected that the film will be released in 2012.
