Sarah Jessica Parker To Take Over Demi Moore's Role In Lovelace - Updated![]()
One notable film star is set to replace another in the upcoming Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman directed Lovelace. Following word that Demi Moore was dropping out of the Linda Lovelace biopic due to personal issues, the big question was, who would replace her? We have our answer today and it’s a name that’s just as recognizable as Moore’s.
Entertainment Weekly broke the news today that Sarah Jessica Parker is stepping in to play the role of feminist icon Gloria Steinem in Lovelace. The film stars Amanda Seyfried as Linda Lovelace, a woman who gained fame for her starring role in the X-rated film Deep Throat. Parker is replacing Demi Moore, who was originally set to play Steinem, but dropped out following an incident involving her reportedly collapsing and having to be rushed to the hospital. While Moore and Parker are probably at about the same level in terms of their fame, and they both began to earn names for themselves in the entertainment industry in the ’80’s, they aren’t exactly what I’d describe as interchangeable in terms of their screen presence, so it should be interesting to see what Parker brings to the role of Steinem, and eventually speculate over how Moore might have tackled the part. Update: This news seems to differ from what Us Weekly reported earlier today that Mary-Louise Parker is set to play the role of Steinem in the film. Given the similar last name's it's possible an error was made, or perhaps the "final" decision has yet to be made. We'll post an update if there is one. New Update: E! Online confirms that it's Sarah Jessica Parker playing the part, stating: Just hours after Mary-Louise Parker's name was floated as a possible replacement for Demi Moore in the upcoming Lovelace, the studio has confirmed that Sarah Jessica Parker will play feminist icon Glorida Steinem. We'll post any further developments if there are any but for now, it looks like SJP is set to play Steinem. |
