Seth Rogen To Produce And Possibly Star In The B-Team![]()
It was a pretty crazy year for Seth Rogen. Kicking things off with Green Hornet in January, the comedian came out with five movies this year, including 50/50, Kung Fu Panda 2, Paul and Take This Waltz (admittedly the last one only premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and won't be released until next year). But that's not really anything new. Rogen's ubiquity has been consistent ever since he first broke out and now he's insuring that things will stay that way in the future.
Variety has learned that Seth Rogen is producing and may star in a new spy comedy for Disney called The B-Team. A play on the television series The A-Team, the movie will be about an elite agent who is kidnapped and it's left up to his tech staff to rescue him. The project has actually been around for three years and is based on a script by Derek Guiley and David Schneiderman. In addition to Rogen, Charles Segars and Ilan Breil are also producing the project. I think this idea could be kind of fun, but I can't help but think about Mystery Men when looking at that plot. Isn't it exactly the same thing only with spies instead of superheros? That said, one of my favorite bits of Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol is the role played by Simon Pegg, who plays an IMF agent who has been promoted from tech to the field and his excitement at every turn is palpable. I wouldn't mind watching a movie about a group of guys and girls like that. I just hope they figure out how stupid that title is before it's too late. |
