Sony Pictures Classics Will Probably Distribute Roman Polanski's Carnage![]()
Roman Polanski put together his screen adaptation of the play God of Carnage-- the film is simply called Carnage-- without a distributor in place, but it was pretty much a sure bet from the word go-- based on the play that won the Tony, the adaptation stars Christoph Waltz, Kate Winslet, Jodie Foster and John C. Reilly, and promises to feature some of the juiciest acting of whatever year the film finally gets released. Now with the film wrapped and a fall release looking likely, Sony Pictures Classics is apparently closing a deal to be the studio that brings the film to us.
Deadline reports that SPC partners Michael Barker and Tom Bernard are in the process of acquiring the U.S. rights to Carnage, which just finished shooting in Paris. We're already gotten an early look at the cast at work, plus the phenomenal wrap party photo you see below. Now Sony Pictures Classics, a fantastic distributor for classy and low-budget films, is taking that key final step to make sure we see it. If you're putting together your Oscar contender roster for the fall, it's time to add this one to the line-up. ![]() |
