Spielberg Sends Emily Watson And David Thewlis Into World War I For War Horse

Of the many upcoming films Steven Spielberg has waiting in varying stages of production, War Horse may be the one people are least excited about. So of course it’ll be the next one in theaters.

War Horse will be Spielberg’s first movie to hit screens since he raped Indiana Jones. Empire says he’s started casting and hired a group of Brits to star in his film. Emily Watson, Peter Mullan, David Thewlis and Benedict Cumberbatch are all on board with unknown Jeremy Irvine as the movie’s lead.

War Horse is about the friendship between a boy and a horse separated during the Great War. That’s World War I for all you non-readers. Their fates continue to be intertwined as the trench war across Europe rages on. I’m assuming it’s kind of like The Black Stallion meets Saving Private Ryan.
