In The Big Year, Steve Martin, Owen Wilson and Jack Black find themselves in deep competition with each other. All avid birdwatchers experiencing some sort of life crisis, they embark on the most challenging event known in the activity: a year-long, cross country expedition to see the most types of birds. Ridiculous? Absolutely, but also filled with a great potential for comedy.

We showed you the first trailer for the film earlier this month and now the first official clip has arrived online. Check it out below or in HD over on Yahoo!



The one thing that I will say about this clip is that I'm happy it finally explains that these main characters are birdwatchers. With the exception of the Jack Black line about "Bird fallout" at the beginning, the theatrical trailer didn't really explain that at all (or, really, what a Big Year is). Hopefully going forward the promotion will be more forthcoming about the plot.
