When it comes to getting movie news, two of the more popular sources are industry insiders and Twitter, of all places. Rarely does anything Earth-shattering get unwittingly blurted out during a panel interview. But thatís just what happened when Thor: The Dark World star Clive Russell was recently interviewed at the London Film & Comic Con, which NextMovie alerted us to, where he told the entire world that Benicio Del Toro would be making a cameo appearance in the Thor sequel, a fact that Iím certain no one else was willing to give up this early in the game. Why is it so interesting? Because Del Toro is currently set to star in Marvelís Guardians of the Galaxy, to be directed by James Gunn. We donít even know for certain who Del Toro is playing yet, but we now know where weíll see him first!

Speaking about the differences between British actors and non-British actors when he let it slip. "I worked with Benicio Del Toro on a scene in which he was meant to be quite angry, and sitting fifteen feet away, I couldnít hear a word he was saying," Russell said. "But you look at it on the screen, and itís absolutely there ." Watch the whole interview below, with the relevant news coming in at the 2:15 mark.

Not only does this confirm what we all know Ė that Del Toro is notorious for being hard to understand Ė but it also gives us a small idea as to who he might be playing. The going theory right now is that Del Toro will be playing the billions-year-old Taneleer Tivan, A.K.A The Collector, while some are still holding onto the hope that heíll be playing evil incarnate Thanos. While a cameo from either of these characters could possibly make sense within the context of the Marvel universe at large, Iím going out on a naÔve limb here in thinking Del Toroís cameo leans more towards The Collector because the make-up and costume for Thanos would be far more complicated, and it seems like the actorís anger would be better read on camera as the more humanoid looking Collector. Yes, itís a stretch and yes, it would have been easier to guess had Russell mentioned motion-capture dots on Del Toroís face or the fact that his dialogue including words like "collecting artifacts," but that would be asking too much.

Then again, Avengers director Joss Whedon has promised that the Avengers and Guardians universes likely wouldnít overlap. But he was only talking about Avengers 2, so the Thor crossover isnít impossible. What do you guys think? Weíre "collecting" opinions in the comment section.

Thor: The Dark World comes out on November 8, 2013, with or without Del Toro in the final cut. Check out the trailer below.
