Set photos of Tobey Maguire used to be a very different thing. Less than a decade ago the actor was running around the streets of New York City wearing red and blue tights as one of the greatest superheros of all time. Now, however, that job has been relegated to Andrew Garfield and today we have a new kind of Tobey Maguire set photos. The actor is currently in production on Baz Luhrmann's adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby in which he plays the central protagonist, Nick Carraway. Now we get to see exactly what that looks like.

I must say, it's really strange to see someone wearing clothes out of the 1920s and carrying around an iPod. Otherwise, Maguire really looks great in the part and it will be exciting to see how it turns out. We can always rely on Luhrmann to get the aesthetic right, the question is whether or not the story will come together.

The Great Gatsby co-stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, Joel Edgerton, Isla Fisher, Gemma Ward and Callan McAuliffe. Also being adapted by Luhrmann, the movie will be hitting theaters on December 25, 2012.
