The post-Harry Potter landscape has been relatively favorable for alums of the massive fantasy film franchise. Daniel Radcliffe continued to make bank with The Woman In Black (which opened to $20.8 million last weekend), Emma Watson took part in the Oscar-nominated My Week with Marilyn, and Tom Felton – according to Deadline -- has entered negotiations to join Therese Raquin, a drama written and directed by acclaimed stage director Charlie Stratton.

Months ago, we reported that Martha Marcy May Marlene standout Elizabeth Olsen and current Best Actress nominee Glenn Close (Albert Nobbs) were cast in the lead roles. The story adapts a 19th century novel about a young Parisian named Raquin (Olsen), who is forced into a loveless marriage and pines for her husband’s close friend, Laurent.

Felton wouldn’t play Laurent, however. The former Malfoy will be cast as Olsen’s original husband – the one she doesn’t love – who [SPOILER ALERT!!!] ends up being murdered by Raquin and her lover. Deadline dropped that knowledge. It might be giving away too much, unless there’s a lot more story left to be told. The site adds that Olsen and the uncast Laurent are haunted by the lost lover, though whether that means we’ll see a ghostly Felton or not remains to be seen.

Felton, like his Potter co-stars, has been adding decent features to his resume. He had a villainous role in Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and will be seen in From the Rough and The Apparition, both for Warner Bros. Good for him. Olsen is a red-hot up-and-comer, while Close could nab a Best Actress win on Feb. 26. Adding him doesn’t make me more or less interested to see Raquin, though I’m happy he continues to find interesting projects.
