Just when you think that the cast of Disney's musical Into The Woods couldn't possibly get any more star-studded, they add yet another notable name to the lineup. Over the past few weeks the high-profile project has grown and grown, adding actors like Meryl Streep, Johnny Depp, Chris Pine, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Emily Blunt. And now the woman who helped introduce the world to The Simpsons is close to coming on board as well.

The Hollywood Reporter says that British comedienne Tracey Ullman is now in negotiations to the Broadway adaptation, which is being directed by Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides helmer Rob Marshall. Based on the show by Stephen Sondheim, the story follows a childless wife (Blunt) and husband who, as the title suggests, go into the woods to try and find and confront the witch (Streep) who has cursed their family. The journey finds the heroes running into various fairy tale characters along the way. The trade says that Depp is "taking on a variation of the fairy tale wolf," while Gyllenhaal and Pine will be be playing the princes of Cinderella and Repunzel, respectively. Should she sign on the dotted line Ullman will play the mother of Jack The Giant Killer, a role that has not yet been cast.

Ullman hasn't been in a live-action film since Amy Heckerling's 2007 romantic dramedy I Could Never Be Your Woman, though she did lend her voice to 2008's The Tale of Despereaux. She has kept busy on the small screen, starring in her HBO show State of the Union as well as the British series Mumbai Calling.
