Last week brought tons of huge news for James Bond fans around the world. At a press conference in London it was announced that the next movie in the franchise, previously known only by its working title Bond 23, will be titled Skyfall and, in addition to the returning Daniel Craig and Judi Dench, the film will star Naomie Harris, Berenice Marlohe, Javier Bardem, Albert Finney, Ralph Fiennes and Ben Whishaw. That was all followed by an image earlier today from the @007 Twitter account revealing the first slate from the new movie. But just because production is underway doesn't mean that all of the holes have been filled just yet, and now it has been announced that two more names have been added to the Skyfall roster.
The aforementioned official Twitter account has announced that Helen McCrory and Ola Rapace have also joined the next entry in the James Bond franchise. While McCrory is best known for her portrayal of Narcissa Malfoy in the Harry Potter movies, Rapace's work has largely been in his native Sweden, where he has had success both in films and television. The Tweet did not say what parts the two actors will be playing. Few details about the plot of the Sam Mendes-directed film have been revealed, though we do know that Bond's loyalty to M will be tested and that MI6 comes under attack and the number one spy must stop it no matter what the cost. The strange thing about the Bond franchise is that it's hard to speculate about who the actors and actresses might play. Last time I checked there aren't too many extremely notable roles for 40 year old men or women, so it's hard to say who they might be playing. Guess we'll just have to wait until November 9, 2012 to find out. Back to top
