Vampire Diaries Star And Jason Voorhees Get In On Deathgames

Deathgames is an upcoming action thriller with a wonderful and hilariously offbeat premise: Samuel L. Jackson is a crazy person who kidnaps people and forces them to fight like gladiators in an arena. Kellan Lutz and Lost's Daniel Dae Kim have already signed on to play two of the kidnapping victims-turned-badasses, and now THR reports he'll be in good company: James Remar, who you know as Dexter's father on Showtime, and most recent Jason Voorhees Derek Mears are also on board.

They'll all be joined by Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev, who won't get into the ring (we think) but will be playing Lutz's wife instead. Maybe she's bummed she won't get in on any of the action, but with the unpredictable Jackson masterminding things, she's probably also glad to get to sit things out. Visual effects supervisor Jonah Loop will be making his directorial debut on the film.
