Video Interview: The Smurfs Director Raja Gosnell And Producer Jordan Kerner
A few weeks back I had the chance to visit Sony Pictures animation, and when I wasn't deforming Smurfs using an animation program or making Clumsy Smurf curse up a storm as he ran away from a dog, I was talking to the people responsible for bringing the long-beloved characters to the silver screen. Last night I posted my interview with Hank Azaria and Jayma Mays, two of the live-action actors from the feature film, but now it's time to go behind the scenes with director Raja Gosnell and producer Jordan Kerner.
Based on the classic characters by Peyo, The Smurfs takes the classic blue cartoon and transports it to the real world. When the evil wizard Gargamel (Azaria) finally finds Smurf village and tries to capture them, Papa Smurf, Smurfette, Clumsy Smurf, Grouchy Smurf, Gutsy Smurf and Brainy Smurf go through a mysterious portal that lands them in the heart of New York City. Discovered by a married couple (Mays and Neil Patrick Harris) attempting to have a child, they must find their way back home before it's too late. Check out my interview with Gosnell and Kerner below! |
