Ratatouille Disney Twist

For the last 90 years the Walt Disney Company has been arguably the greatest source of family-friendly entertainment available anywhere in the world. There have been multiple generations who have grown up with Disney stories helping guide a path of morality, and their movies and theme parks have supplied children with hours upon hours of laughs and joy. But that family-friendly image has a dark side in the internet age, as it doesn't take long to Photoshop a funny image from a Disney title that completely upends the company's wholesome image.

Cracked has posted the results of its latest Photoplasty contest - a competition to create the funniest Photoshoped image based on a common theme - and if you're not trying to soil memories from your childhood I might suggest clicking away now. The theme of the contest was "Plot Twists Cut from Disney Movies" and the results put some our our favorite characters in horribly awful, awkward, shameful or terrible situations that put a dark spin on the classic stories. Let's check out some of the best ones, shall we? Above we have what could be a really tragic finish to Brad Bird's Ratatouille, while the next one wonders what would have happened if The Lion King's Simba actually wasn't his son's father...

Next we have Lady acting like a tramp...

Mary Poppins teaching us why we shouldn't drive distracted...

And finally the reveal of the dark lord who is really pulling the strings in The Little Mermaid.

Be sure to head over to Cracked to see the full list, if not especially for the horrible end of Pocahontas that you'll find at the number one spot.

This seems like kind of a mean time to pick on Disney, as The Lone Ranger is really tanking at the box office and could very well cost the studio $150 million, but the truth is that the rest of the year looks quite bright for the Mouse House. Serving as a follow-up to the insanely successful Iron Man 3, Marvel Studios will be releasing Thor: The Dark World on November 8th; Frozen, Walt Disney Animation's adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale The Snow Queen, comes out November 27th; Saving Mr. Banks, which has Tom Hanks literally playing Walt Disney, will be out on December 20th; and next up on August 9th they will have Planes, which is set in the insanely popular Cars universe.
