World War Z Banners Take Carnage Global
For a while it seemed the real horror of the zombie-stuffed epic World War Z would not be its undead villains, but its seemingly nightmarish production period. Brad Pitt's production company Plan B has soldiered through, however, and according to reports from advanced screenings the film that was predicted to be dead on arrival is actually alive and kicking…and coming soon.
To tease this ambitious adaptation of Max Brook's zombie apocalypse novel, the filmmakers are now releasing a string of banner posters that show off the carnage that infects the world in this thriller. Up top you can see a toppled Rome, and below there's Berlin ablaze, Paris on fire, and Mexico City swarmed. Check them out in hi-res at Total Film.
As none of the above is an American metropolis, I suspect more banners of cities besieged by the undead will follow. Considering the filmmakers have already pandered to appeal to the thriving Chinese market, I'll predict Beijing might get its moment in this marketing maneuver too. And if World War Z follows on trend, London will likewise be annihilated.
World War Z stars Brad Pitt as Gerry Lane, a UN representative charged with traversing the world to find the cause behind the horrific zombie pandemic that is breaking out all over. As armies are defeated, governments fall, and humanity's very existence is thrown in the balance, Lane must attempt to discover a saving solution. Matthew Fox, David Morse, The Killing's Mireille Enos, and Iron Man 3's James Badge Dale are also counted among the cast. Marc Forster directs.
World War Z opens June 21st.
