X-Men: Days Of Future Past Brings Back Daniel Cudmore As Colossus
That image above is the latest Twitter picture from director Bryan Singer, arriving with the message, "3 #Oscars, 6 #GoldenGlobes, 1 #BAFTA, 2 #Emmys, 2 #Tonys, 5 #Oliviers, 1 #Ceaser - Now let's blow s**t up! #XMEN" Those following the development of X-Men: Days of Future Past know that what we're looking at is headshots of all the actors in the cast, from James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender to Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen. But what you may not have picked up is that three of those actors are brand new additions.
In analyzing the picture Coming Soon has deduced that Daniel Cudmore, who played Colossus in both X2: X-Men United and X-Men: The Last Stand; The Twilight Saga's Booboo Stewart, and Chinese actress Fan Bingbing are all now part of the X-Men: Days of Future Past cast. The characters played by the latter two actors are clearly still unknown, just like the roles played by Peter Dinklage and Omar Sy (did you notice the extra slips of paper used to cover up their names?)
UPDATE: Deadline is saying that Bingbing will be playing the mutant known as Blink, a fan-favorite with the ability to teleport.
X-Men: Days of Future Past will see the original X-Men trilogy come together with X-Men: First Class as a mystery character is set back in time from the future to stop a devastating event that changes the mutant world forever. The rest of the cast includes Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Ellen Page, Anna Paquin, Halle Berry, and Shawn Ashmore, and while it was previously rumored, Alan Cumming will not be returning as Nightcrawler. The film is going to start production shortly and Fox has already announced a July, 18 2014 release date.
