X-Men: First Class is well underway, and that means eagle-eyed fans snooping around the set with cameras. In this case they’ve captured a look at one of the coolest things in the X-Men universe: The Blackbird.
The Blackbird is the extremely cool jet the X-Men fly around in. In the movies, for some inexplicable reason, they renamed it the “X-Jet”, but it’s basically the same thing. Hopefully they’ll get back to calling it the Blackbird in First Class, because it looks like the plane has made it into the movie. The following photos come from Comic Book Movie, taken in the air above a beach at Jekyll Island, Georgia, where the Blackbird set is being built. Take a look: WARNING: This photo may be a spoiler. Go no further if you don’t want to know.
And here’s what the Blackbird looked in the previous X-Men movies, when they insisted on calling it the X-Jet:
Obviously the set’s in pieces, and it’s kind of hard to tell from the picture whether that’s intentional. This is either the wreck of the Blackbird, or a Blackbird they just haven’t finished building yet. I’m leaning towards a crash. Either way, it’s great to know the coolest superhero plane ever (sorry Wonder Woman’s invisible jet) has made its way into X-Men: First Class. Back to top
