BREAKING MOVIE NEWS
The bad news is that the first ever trailer for Ender’s Game won’t be arriving until Star Trek Into Darkness hits theaters next month on May 17th. The good news, however, is that we’ve already seen the footage, and we have a full description for you inside!
Everything I had previously read about Ben Stiller’s The Secret Life of Walter Mitty had me believing that the film was going to be a broad comedy. The movie is stacked with a stellar comedic cast - including not only Stiller, but Kristen Wiig, Adam Scott, Kathryn Hahn, Patton Oswalt – and comes from the director of movies like Zoolander and Tropic Thunder.
After Disney's big presentation this morning, which featured an extended look at The Lone Ranger and the first screening of Monsters University, it was Sony's turn this evening to show off their upcoming slate, which showed a good deal of material from just about every movie that the studio has coming out in 2013.
Walt Disney Studios showed off a full 20 minutes of action-packed footage from Gore Verbinski’s The Lone Ranger, which, in addition to the recently-released trailer, makes the film look like it could be one of the biggest surprise hits of the summer season.
Cars 2 failed to live up to standards and expectations, and while Brave had greatness within it, it also lacked the certain creative spark that the studio has become renowned for. With Monsters University, however, Pixar seems to be back on track.
While tonight’s presentation from WB did include trailers from Man of Steel, The Hangover Part III, The Conjuring and The Great Gatsby, it was the footage that was shown from August and beyond that made it the most interesting one we’ve seen so far.
With R.I.P.D. now only a few months away from release and the first trailer set to arrive online this week, Universal Pictures has once again brought the film back to Las Vegas, showing off a brand new sizzle reel.
During their presentation the studio showed off reels from movies including R.I.P.D., Kick-Ass 2, Despicable Me 2, and 2 Guns, but the real star of the show was the Fast and Furious franchise.
Paramount Pictures had it’s big presentation this evening at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Nevada, but it wasn’t just new Star Trek Into Darkness footage that the studio had on display – they also brought some intense zombie action to the proceedings as well.
Tonight the event was kicked off by a presentation from Paramount Pictures – which of course meant the reveal of some brand new scenes from the highly-anticipated J.J. Abrams-directed Star Trek Into Darkness.
It’s a four hour drive to get from Los Angeles, California to Las Vegas, Nevada, a trip that’s composed entirely of long stretches of highway that extend through the deserts of the south west. And once again we have braved the heat and the sand paving the way to this year’s CinemaCon.
