In case you didn't already realize, 2014 was a pretty damn good year for crime movies - and for proof of that fact, you need look no further than the latest supercut that has come across our desk.
If anyone wondered why Jude Lawís titular character didnít get more speaking time in the first trailer for Dom Hemingway, itís because the marketing team probably had to pick and choose the only bits of Hemingwayís dialogue that didnít contain compounding expletives. Thatís the impression I get from this trailer, which wears its red band like a condom and penetrates the ears and eyes with breasts, f-bombs and myriad other forms of debauchery.
Here in the U.S. we have quite a while to wait for Dom Hemingway, the new crime-themed comedy that has Jude law playing a lothario, but a washed up and mildly pathetic-- but still very funny!-- one. The film won't open until April 4 around here, but it's coming to theaters in the U.K.. on November 15, which means Digital Spy has debuted the first trailer, which you can watch above
Law plays a safecracker known for his profane and dangerous ways. He gets out of prison after a 12-year stint and goes off with a partner, played by Richard E. Grant (Withnail & I), to get whatís owed to him by his boss (DemiŠn Bichir) for not ratting him out while in jail.
Demian Bichir and Emilia Clarke have both had very good years, but for totally different reasons. Bichir was a surprise Oscar nominee earlier this year for Best Actor thanks to his role in the immigrant drama A Better Life, and has appeared since then in Oliver Stone's Savages and nabbed a role in Paul Feig's buddy cop comedy The Heat
