Lionsgate carved out a little corner of the Convention Center floor for a sizeable Hunger Games exhibit, handing out posters to excited fans and allowing crowd members to post with Peacekeepers. Traitors!
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 Unfurls Creepy Character Portraits Of Capitol Captured Peeta And Johanna
In this motion poster for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 Peeta looks healthy and unafraid. However, there's something sinister about his being rained down on by white rose petals.
Summit/Lionsgate is taking a rather nontraditional approach to unveiling the highly anticipated first trailer of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1. Instead of debuting the footage to a packed Hall H of cheering Katniss fans at Comic-Con...
The Mockingjay Lives! And Beetee is awesome. We knew both of those things already, and now the Capitol does too. Following up on the previously released "Capitol TV" teaser, which revealed Donald Sutherland's President Snow offering a gentle (creepy) warning (threat) to Panem not to rebel against the government...
And now, an important address from President Snow – the glorious leader of Panem!
Lionsgate offers these stunning propaganda posters from the affluent (and evil) Capitol, which in theory celebrate the "heroes" of Panem. But look closer. You'll notice something insidious.
Images aren’t the only hook of this elaborate and high-tech movie Web site. The Hunger Games fans can dig around and enjoy: a Q-and-A with Lawrence, producer Nina Jacobson, and screenwriter Peter Craig; behind-the-scenes stills; an interactive sneak peek at a page from the film’s script; and that aforementioned motion poster.
In the film, Christie will be playing Commander Lyme, a military leader out of District 2 and former Hunger Games victor who joins Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence), Peeta (Josh Hutchinson) and the rest of the rebellion against President Snow (Donald Sutherland) and the leaders of Panem. In case you're wondering if Christie can play tough, I might recommend watching a few Game of Thrones clips.
Is it the best scenario? No. The best scenario would involve Hoffman finishing the work that he started on The Hunger Games movies, then moving on to countless more interesting and challenging roles. Sadly, that option’s no longer on the table.
"His performances in both [remaining] movies will be up to the best of his craft. We feel it will be a good tribute to him," a studio source said. Lionsgate Issues Statement On Death Of Philip Seymour Hoffman, Updated With Statement From Hunger Games Cast & Crew
We’re so thankful to learn that Hoffman will not have to be replaced somehow in the franchise, Not that the future of a movie franchise matters at all in the wake of Hoffman’s loss. But he was excellent in Catching Fire, and we knew that he had a lot to do in the next films.
Until these major festivals, Team Hunger Games is trying to keep a lid on what has been filmed already. Director Francis Lawrence, who joined the series with Catching Fire, confirmed that they’ve had fun exploring the yet-to-be-seen District 13.
The Mockingjay symbol of The Hunger Games franchise has morphed quite a bit since the film series began back in 2012. The first version had the famous bird clutching an arrow in its beak (a representation of Katniss' greatest skill), the second had the creature caught in a spoked wheel (representative of the special clock design of Catching Fire's Hunger Games arena)...
Natalie Dormer has never been a woman who has trouble going for it. She’s done nudity, corsets and all sorts of general weirdness; so, it probably shouldn’t come as a shock to anyone that she’s willing to cut her hair for a role. In this case, she was apparently willing to shave her head, or at least half of it for both parts of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay.
Fandango conducted the poll, revealing that its users placed Mockingjay – Part 1 atop their collective list of movies they can’t wait to see this year. In addition, Hunger Games co-star Jennifer Lawrence and Gangster Squad hunk Ryan Gosling were selected as the top fan picks for the Sexiest Men and Women appearing in 2014 movies.
