BREAKING MOVIE NEWS
We don’t yet know how the series will “retire” Paul Walker’s character, but it will be interesting to see if the door is left open for more Fast stories after Furious 7.
All roads lead to this. Universal dropped the first trailer for the wildly anticipated Furious 7, the continuation of the muscle-car soap opera which encountered far too many obstacles on the path through production but is not revving up all engines in preparation for its April 3, 2015 release date.
Twitter, Facebook, Vine and Instagram have all hosted exclusive clips featuring incredible footage – in seven-second bursts – behind-the-scenes clips, and illuminating cast interviews on behalf of the upcoming Furious 7, as well as the entire Fast & Furious saga.
While the term "Inhumans" refers to all the descendants of people who were experimented on by the Kree thousands of years ago in the Marvel universe, the movie’s main characters will likely be the Inhuman royal family. The following is a list of each character that needs to be included, as well as who is best suited to play them. If Marvel does everything right, Inhumans could be their best ensemble film yet.
Of course, for most, Fast 7 will be an opportunity to say one last goodbye to the late Paul Walker. But as Diesel reminds us in this photo, shared courtesy of #TorettoTuesday, the franchise has always been – and always will be – about the cars as much as it is about the people.
The men are in suits, we believe, because they attended the funeral of the late Han (Kang Sung), killed by Ian Shaw at the tail end of Fast & Furious 6. They’re ensconced in their comfortable garage, and planning revenge. But what is Paul Walker holding in his hand?
You’ve heard of Throwback Thursday, right? Well, Vin Diesel is attempting to trademark Toretto Tuesday, and he kicks it off with this exclusive image for Fast & Furious 7, as well as a tantalizing tease for the movie’s first trailer.
Vin Diesel is always a scary dude. Thanks to his giant muscles and angry sneer, he wakes up looking like he’s ready to beat people up. It’s just standard operating procedure for him, but it turns out his normal appearance isn’t even as scary as it gets.
The journey to Fast & Furious 7 has been extremely difficult, littered with obstacles that the crew has managed to overcome. But you know that the tributes – like the one Vin Diesel shared from the set of the movie – will continue right up until the moment that Fast & Furious 7 opens in theaters next April.
Since breaking out as a lead actor, Vin Diesel has largely rolled with the same look in all of his roles - the Mr. Clean-esque shaved head with no facial hair. That said, it seems that Diesel is doing something radical for his next big roll: he's sporting a beard. Production has officially begun on the new epic fantasy movie The Last Witch Hunter, and to celebrate the event the star has posted the first official still of himself in costume.
Is Vin Diesel just beating the Hannibal drum louder, from inside of a helicopter? Is that a real title treatment, and the sign that this historical war drama might finally be getting closer to production?
If there's a character from Guardians Of The Galaxy that could rival Rocket Raccoon for most popular Guardian, it has to be Groot. And now, you can plant a tree in his honor as part of a challenge that Vin Diesel and now James Gunn have laid down on the internet.
Any way you want to look at it, Vin Diesel has had an extremely successful career. He’s toplined huge franchises. He’s played key supporting roles in beloved movies, and he’s somehow amassed more than twice as many Facebook fans as the Beatles.
After being challenged by Guardians of the Galaxy helmer James Gunn, Diesel, who memorably gave voice to the film's sentient tree, demanded his director plant a tree for Groot.
For the Fast & Furious series, Paul Walker truly was a founding father, and his loss could have shook the franchise to its core. It will be interesting to see how Fast 7 resolves. There were plans in place for a new trilogy. Could this now, however, be the end of the road?
So, here is the theory, based on rumors, guesswork and a few hunches: Guardians Of The Galaxy is to Marvel's space lineup as Iron Man was to Marvel's “Phase 1”: a reminder to its hero(es) that there's a “bigger universe” out there. And with the news about a writer for Inhumans came word that the studio was interested in building, "a multiple-film cosmic universe." So what are these films?
It's not uncommon that we hear about films that have been stuck in development hell for between five and 10 years, but paperback hero Mack Bolan has been waiting multiple decades for his time on the silver screen. After so many years, the character is finally being pulled off the shelf, and a writer has been hired to pen a new feature based around him, but it's amazing to think back on what could have been.
The leader of the Inhuman Royal Family is Black Bolt (aka Blackagar Boltagon - really), who has the ability to generate a concussive force through the use of his voice. The coup in getting Diesel to potentially play this role is that nerds need not fret about Marvel universe crossover: Groot only makes use of Diesel's voice, but because of his powers, Black Bolt is essentially a mute.
Of course, as the trailers have teased, Groot doesn't have a whole lot to say other than "I am Groot." Nonetheless, Vin Diesel took it upon himself to learn how to say his characters catchphrase in Brazilian Portuguese, Mandarin Chinese, French, Russian and Latin American Spanish to better be a part of Guardians of the Galaxy's impending world domination.
Described as a supernatural action film. The Last Witch Hunter will star Diesel as an immortal witch hunter (naturally) who is seeking to stop a current NYC coven from unleashing a devastating plague on mankind. But he can't do it alone, and so must team up with his natural enemy, a female witch presumably played by Leslie.
According to the report, the scene was supposed to involve “a souped-up yellow Chevelle” that would race another can and “dramatically pop a wheelie, as bystanders stand right by the track and cheer.”
"Our family is big and strong but it won’t ever quite be whole again without Paul. All of us -- those who’ve been here from the start and those whose first FAST film is 7 -- wanted to create a special film for him and for you. We believe we have," the letter reads.
The original The Fast and the Furious film had a large-scale car race known as Race Wars, where Brian had to prove his worth to the Dom and the gang. It was an early promise of the auto insanity that would become the trademark of this franchise.
After rumors of unrest on the set of Fast and Furious 7, Vin Diesel has responded with an indirect statement. A statement that explains why if the rumors are true, they aren't without reason.
Vin Diesel’s Facebook page remains a hotbed of information for all of his upcoming projects, from Fast and Furious 7 to Marvel’s upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy, where he’ll play Groot. Wan reportedly is finishing up production on the latest Fast film, which will be in theaters on April 10, 2015.
