Hot Tub Time Machine 2 is looking at a bleak, Fifty Shades-dominated scenario this weekend. Despite that, the cast of the film are nevertheless making their rounds doing their best to get people taking about this fun-filled time-bending romp of a sequel.
The comedy sequel Hot Tub Time Machine 2 will be heading into theaters tomorrow to try and hold its own again the Fifty Shades of Grey-dominated box office. However, what you may not know is that there was an original plan to give the film a more conceptual title.

Weirdly enough, this one looks like a whodunit, with Lou getting shot in the present day, and the gang getting into the Hot Tub Time Machine© to end up in the future. Clark Duke is also back as Jacob, and the trailer throws us a curveball by suddenly, conspicuously sliding Adam Scott in there as if we wouldn't notice Leslie Knope's main squeeze.

It doesn’t look like there’s an actual release date set yet, but there is confirmation from MGM and Paramount that the follow-up to the 2010 time-travel comedy will touch down at some point this year. We also have some details about the plot of the sequel, which will center around Rob Corddry’s character Lou this time around.
Adam Scott will step into John Cusack's place, playing the older son of Cusack’s character from the first movie. And it was Scott who spilled the beans about the possible early release date, mentioning to Collider while promoting his latest comedy A.C.O.D. that, “I think Hot Tub comes out in the spring.”
It seems like just an hour or so ago, I was pointing out the number of NBC Thursday-night comedy stars set to play roles in the Hot Tub Time Machine sequel, what with Chevy Chase on board to return and Adam Scott joining the cast. And then comes another exciting piece of casting for the follow-up. Chase will be joining his former Community co-star Gillian Jacobs, who has been cast as the female lead in the movie.

Craig Robinson, Rob Corddry and Clark Duke are all ready to take another trip in the Hot Tub Time Machine, but sadly John Cusack will not. While no reason is specified at this time, it appears as though he will be the only member of the main cast that doesn't return.
Those who loved the 2010 comedy Hot Tub Time Machine may want to toast this news with a can of "Chernobly." This is the End's Craig Robinson says the sequel to the film is set to go into production in the beginning of June. At this point though, it sounds like negotiations are still ongoing and there's an updated script coming.
