Simon Pegg has perfected playing rage-filled geeks. And we see a moment of such abrupt and senseless rage in the trailer above for his latest, but at its core, Hector and the Search For Happiness is a drama about the adventure one man needs to find joy.
Sure, I’d rather watch Pegg travel from one bar to the next in The World’s End, but watching his mopey bespectacled shrink morph into a smiling free spirit sounds rather uplifting.
Simon Pegg has received two fantastic co-stars in his upcoming ilm Hector and the Search For Happiness. It has been announced that Rosamund Pike and Christopher Plummer have both taken roles in the drama-comedy.
Based on Francois Lelord's novel of the same name, Hector and the Search for Happiness will offer Pegg a chance to try his hand at a more dramatic role, playing a quirky but charismatic psychiatrist who can't seem to make a major difference in the happiness quotient of his patients. Dispirited, Hector (Pegg) sets out to travel the world and discover is happiness truly exists.
