How Many People Wolverine Has Killed In The X-Men Movies

Some spoilers ahead for X-Men: Apocalypse.

X-Men: Apocalypse has been out for almost a week, marking the sixth main X-Men film to hit the silver screen. Throughout the franchise, one character has managed to hold the attention and hearts of the audience, even warranting a couple spinoff films. This character is none other than Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine who has appeared, in one way or another, in every single film in the franchise’s history. In addition to being a bad boy with a heart of gold, Wolverine is also the most deadly and violent of the series’ characters.

When times are tough for mutants, rest assured that Wolverine will sink his claws into the flesh of whatever threat is in the way. As such, he’s racked up quite the impressive kill count, and a new video has tallied up every single kill in order. Take a look.

There’s nothing quite like taking a stroll down murder memory lane. Let’s walk through Wolverine’s violent journey through the X-Men movie universe. To start, it’s important to note that his video began with Logan’s kills in X-2: X-Men United. While the original X-Men movie premiered in 2000, Wolverine didn’t actually sink his claws into anyone until the 2003 sequel. The first film had Logan punching a dude in a fighting pit, slashing Sabertooth a bit, and fighting a clone of himself through Mystique (which actually makes no sense considering her powers, but whatever).

X-2; however, brought in a Wolverine who wasn’t afraid of some bloodshed. When the mansion is attacked by William Stryker’s forces while he was in charge, Wolverine used his adamantium claws and sunk them into every soldier he could find. I distinctly remember sitting in the movie theater and watching Wolverine stab the first guy to death in the Mansion’s kitchen, and being completely surprised and thrilled that the violence had stepped up in the sequel.

The infamous X-Men: The Last Stand had a similar amount of kills for Wolverine. In addition to killing a gaggle of unidentified mutant soldiers, he does get a kill that truly mattered to the story. Namely, he kills Famke Janssen's Jean Grey in the final moments of the film, much to the chagrin of basically every audience member.

From there, the video goes into Wolverine’s spinoffs, which contain a pretty remarkable amount of fatalities. Wolverine was shown in a few major wars, causing a tank explosion, and dispatching a ton of unnamed Yakuza members and ninjas. Oh, and he totes killed that weird version of Ryan ReynoldsDeadpool

All together, Wolverine has killed around 91 people before the events of X-Men: Apocalypse. While his role isn’t that lengthy in the new film, he does an insane amount of damage during his short time on screen. As weapon X, Wolverine single-handedly kills the majority of the troops in Alkali Lake. So an updated version of this video is sorely necessary for those of us who have seen the events of Apocalypse

X-Men: Apocalypse, complete with a murderous Wolverine, is in theaters now.
