These Three Avengers Are Ready For The X-Men To Join The MCU

There’s never been a better time to be both a cinephile as well as a comic book nerd. Having said that, one of the biggest frustrations for Marvel fans stems from the fact that the Marvel Cinematic Universe does not have access to the X-Men lore. These two superhero universes have become successful in their own respective rights, but true fans know that they belong together. It now seems that we fans aren’t alone in that belief, as three Avengers also want to see the X-Men come over to the MCU.

According to Comicbook.com, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, and Chris Evans recently took the stage at Wizard World Philadelphia, and they all expressed a profound interest in seeing 20th Century Fox’s mutants head over to the Marvel Cinematic Universe when Avengers: Infinity War rolls around. Stan himself noted:

Looks like it's time to get back some of those X-Men. Mystique. We need that Mystique.

So it seems that Sebastian Stan really wants to see certain characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe interact with members of the X-Men mythos. In particular he comments that someone like Jennifer Lawrence’s Mystique could potentially make for an awesome addition to the MCU. Of course, then there's Anthony Mackie, who just wants to share the screen with Halle Berry above all else.

Sebastian Stan is not entirely wrong in his assertion. Although the Marvel Cinematic Universe features characters that have some truly amazing abilities, the X-Men films have done a decidedly superior job of diversifying the abilities of the heroes and adding more variety to the powers and abilities. After all of the punch-centric MCU films, it might be time to bring in some characters like Mystique or Kitty Pryde, who can add a bit more stealth and intrigue to the proceedings.

On the other hand, Chris Evans wants to see the X-Men characters integrate with Marvel Cinematic Universe from a more professional standpoint. He goes on to note that he wants to work with several of the X-Men actors in the near future:

I'd love to work with Fassbender because he's Fassbender. Him and McAvoy, one of those guys would be great to work with.

Given the performances we saw in X-Men: Apocalypse, it’s not hard to blame him. Admittedly it would be genuinely engaging to see a WWII veteran like Steve Rogers meet a Holocaust survivor like Magneto, or downright awesome to see a flashback where Cap and Bucky encountered a young Logan on the front lines of the battlefield.

If Spider-Man can make his way over to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, then it’s not outside the realm of possibility that the X-Men could one day do the same. It would just be considerably harder. We will keep you posted regarding any and all updated related to a possible Marvel integration as more information becomes available to us. We want it, and the cast wants it; now it’s just a matter of waiting.
