Here’s What Kyle Chandler And Mackenzie Davis Would Look Like As Cable and Domino In Deadpool 2

It's hard to talk about anything related to Deadpool 2 without bringing up Cable. Ever since the Merc with a Mouth himself revealed that Cable was going to be in the sequel, actors and fans alike started campaigns to play the character, with names like Stephen Lang and Kiera Knightley getting thrown around. Recently, it was rumored that Kyle Chandler was the favorite to play the time-traveling X-Man, in addition to Mackenzie Davis apparently appearing as Domino. With the internet being what it is, we already have fan art portraying what the two actors would look like as their respective characters. Let's start with what Mackenzie Davis would look like as Domino.

These sketches are brought to us by BossLogic, a graphic artist who has done several mock-ups of what certain actors would look like as comic book characters, including Matt Damon as Green Arrow and Anna Kendrick as Squirrel Girl. Now he's done the same here for Mackenzie Davis as Domino. Domino is a mutant mercenary with powers that boil down to either giving herself good luck or her opponent's bad luck, and she's a frequent love interest for Deadpool.

The Halt and Catch Fire actress certainly looks the part. It looks very badass and faithful to the comics, but it's always possible that they change up the look for the movie. Her costume may be a little too much like Black Widow's for fans to really appreciate a new badass female in the mix.

And now we've got Kyle Chandler as Cable, the mutant son of Scott Summers (Cyclops) and Madelyne Pryor (Jean Grey's clone) from the future. I have to admit, I'm not really feeling this one. Chandler has shown off some great dramatic chops in shows like Bloodlines and Friday Night Lights, but he just doesn't feel like Cable. Plus, the picture isn't doing much to sell him in the role; there's just something off about it. Chandler doesn't seem rough enough to be a guy who at all times carries pouches full of ammo.

Then again, It's highly likely that the movie version of the character will not be a direct adaptation from the comics (Cable's backstory is way too complicated) so maybe Kyle Chandler fits what the producers have in mind. There's also a lot of appeal in seeing Chandler get continually pissed off by Deadpool.

Deadpool 2 will be directed by Tim Miller with a script penned by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. As of now Ryan Reynolds is the only announced returning cast member, but we'll find out if Kyle Chandler and Mackenzie Davis will be joining him when the movie hits theaters on January 12, 2018.
