New Justice League Image Shows Off Cyborg's Badass Weapon

Although Wonder Woman is the next major DC film on the Warner Bros. slate, all eyes are on Justice League to genuinely change the game when it debuts in November. Not only will it bring a ton of new (and undeniably badass) heroes into the fray, but it will also represent the first ever silver screen depiction of the iconic DC superhero team. We still haven't seen much of Zack Snyder's upcoming DC epic, but a brand new photo has just hit the web showcasing some of Cyborg's (Ray Fisher) impressive weaponry. Check out the picture below to see for yourself.

Cyborg has easily become the most underrepresented member of the Justice League in the film's marketing campaign, but that picture (courtesy of GamesRadar) provides us with a small glimpse of what he's capable of in a fight. The picture shows him battle-ready alongside Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), with his arm converted into a high-tech blaster rifle. Anyone who knows anything about Vic Stone already knows that he's a walking armory, so we have a distinct feeling that this photo only scratches the surface of the tricks hiding up Cyborg's metallic sleeve.

Of course, we're not terribly surprised that Justice League has kept Cyborg at arm's length in recent months. The character is almost entirely CGI, and as such he's one of the most technically complex characters to properly depict in live-action. The post-production team has clearly been hard at work trying to perfect Vic Stone's metallic appearance, and we likely won't get a genuinely good look at the character until much later in the marketing campaign. Regardless, I think it's safe to say that this picture has us intrigued about what this character able to do in combat.

It's also worth mentioning just how vital Vic Stone will be to the overarching narrative of Justice League. The hero directly derives his powers from a Mother Box, and since the League will face off against forces from Apokolips (the same planet that the Mother Boxes hail from), it stands to reason that Cyborg's specific technical skills will factor heavily into the resolution of the film's conflict. After all, that's how the Justice League's origin played out in the New 52 line of DC comics, and the DCEU has already taken ample inspiration from that particular era of DC lore. Expect his Batman V Superman cameo to make quite a bit more sense once Justice League finally hits theaters.

Justice League will blast its way into theaters later this year on November 17, 2017. Stay tuned for more detail!
