The Star Wars: Rogue One Blu-ray Will Come With These Cool Bonus Features

Considering that it has grossed over $1 billion at the box office and that it currently sits as the seventh highest grossing film of all time, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is probably looking at a pretty long shelf life. The spin-off was also a critical success, and now Disney is starting to roll out the carpet for the digital and home release of their latest Star Wars film. Like any decent Blu-ray worth your buck, the release is going to be loaded with bonus features and extras for die hard fans looking to learn more of that behind-the-scenes action. Check out all of the special features for the upcoming release below.

Rogue One is hitting Digital HD on March 24, while the Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD and On-Demand follow soon after on April 4. Disney and Lucasfilm were kind enough to share what fans are in for should they purchase any of the multiple forms of releases, and there's no shortage of extras. Much of the meat of these features are devoted to the original characters of Rogue One, with Jyn Erso, Cassian, K-2SO and the like each getting their own behind-the-scenes look at how they were conceived and developed. "The Princess & The Governor" sounds like it could be a standout, going into how the digital effects crew recreated Moff Tarkin and Princess Leia for the film. Considering both the controversy and impressive technology, that one might be a must watch.

Unfortunately, there won't be any commentary from director Gareth Edwards, but The Force Awakens release also excluded a J.J. Abrams commentary which was included with a later bundle; Rogue One could be doing the same thing. For anyone hoping that those oft spoken rewrites and reshoots might be addressed in any genuine form might want to hold their breath. And with no deleted scenes listed, I'd be very surprised if any of that cut footage ever sees the light of day outside of some kind of "Special Edition" down the road.

Head on over to the next page to check out a brand new trailer promoting the home and digital release of Rogue One.

A new trailer has also made its way to YouTube that specially promotes the new release of Rogue One. It highlights some of the best moments from the blockbuster spin-off and gives a little tease at some of the bonus features buyers can look forward to. Check it out below.

I could watch Darth Vader ignited his lightsaber in a dark room all day, and now I can, should I choose to buy the movie.

You can get your own copy of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story when it hits Digital HD on March 24 or on Blu-ray on April 4.
