Aquaman Dominates New Justice League Footage As Trailer Prepares To Drop

Justice League cast

Apparently we're getting a Justice League trailer in two days! This TV spot, literally recorded off of someone's TV, reveals that a new Justice League trailer will "Unite the League," before giving us a new look at the team and more water-based action around Arthur Curry. Check it out now:

Thanks to WB's official YouTube page, we have a low-res look at new footage from Zack Snyder's upcoming and hotly anticipated Justice League film. Hopefully a cleaner copy of this new footage will arrive shortly, because we really want to analyze Aquaman (Jason Momoa) braving the roaring rush of that wave as the clip concludes. The clip, in general, is Aquaman heavy, with a cool shot of Batman (Ben Affleck) tossing a signature trident to his new teammate. Are we actually going to see scenes of Gotham's Caped Crusader in Atlantis? The possibilities are endless.

If the timing of the trailer drop seems odd -- a random Saturday months before the movie is set to arrive in November -- faithful DC fans made the connection online. Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice arrived on March 25, 2016. One year later, the fruit of that labor will come to pass.

Relatively speaking, Justice League has kept its cards close to its vest. Outside of that San Diego Comic-Con trailer, the massive blockbuster has held off revealing a number of its key elements. We know, from the end of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, that Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) and Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) will embark on a mission to assemble a team in Superman's honor. But we haven't seen the planned Justice League villain, Steppenwolf, yet. We haven't seen a resurrected Superman (Henry Cavill) yet. And we've only received snippets of action footage for team members like Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher).

This new trailer could really blow the doors off of what needs to be the DCEU's crowning jewel. Remember, back in the early days, the impact that Joss Whedon's The Avengers had on the superhero-movie landscape? Seeing all of those icons together on one screen raised the bar. Justice League has the ability to achieve something similar in November. We can't wait to see what Saturday's trailer will deliver.

Justice League continues the story of the DCEU, which also will have Wonder Woman in theaters in June. For more on Upcoming DC Movies, click those words. And to revisit that fantastic Justice League Comic-Con trailer, ride the King Tide over to the next page. I'll have it waiting for you.
