When Diana of Themyscira leaves Themyscira and enters "man's world" for the first time in Wonder Woman, she'll be beating up a lot of German soldiers who get in the way of her ending World War I early. But among the grunts and goons, one of the more important baddies she'll face off against is General Erich Ludendorff, who was an actual historical figure. That man could never proclaim how he fought an Amazon and lived to tell the tale, but his fictional counterpart, on the other hand, will do that very thing, as seen in the clip below.

In this Wonder Woman clip provided to IGN, we see Diana barging in on the military operation General Ludendorff is overseeing. He appears to recognize her, which would make sense given that earlier Wonder Woman trailers showed those two at the same party, but he has no problem with swiftly eliminating her. What he didn't count on what Diana being able to deflect his bullet straight back at his gun. From there the intense fight sequence breaks out, and even though Diana has trained as a warrior for gods know how long on Themyscira, Ludendorff, a normal human by all appearances, puts up a good fight. That said, given how she grabs her sword after Ludendorff tries to cut her down with it, we suspect she'll come out of this victorious.

Erich Ludendorff in Wonder Woman

Ever since the first Wonder Woman trailer was released at San Diego Comic-Con last year, Erich Ludendorff has been presented as one of blockbuster's main antagonists. While speculation about him secretly being Ares, the God of War, proved to be false, Ludendorff will nonetheless play a crucial role in Wonder Woman, as he's working with Doctor Poison on a new type of gas that will kill even more enemy combatants to win The Great War for Germany. While the real Erich Ludendorff lived until 1937, there's no guarantee that Wonder Woman's version will be so lucky.

Taking place approximately a century before Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Wonder Woman will show how Diana became the hero we know and love in the DC Extended Universe, but also reveal what led her to grow disillusioned with humanity for so long. Besides Gal Gadot as Diana and Danny Huston as Ludendorff, the main cast includes Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta, Robin Wright as General Antiope, Lucy Davis as Etta Candy, Elena Anaya as Doctor Poison and David Thewlis as Sir Patrick Morgan, which is reportedly a cover for Ares.

Wonder Woman hits theaters on June 2, and based off early reactions, it looks like it will be a hit for the DCEU. Diana will also appear in Justice League on November 17.
