These Harry Potter Carved Pumpkins Are Amazing

Halloween is a great time to see the creativity of people when it comes to the artistry of pumpkin carving. In a situation that seems somehow incredibly fitting, it turns out that Harry Potter fans have some serious skill in this regard. There are several remarkable Harry Potter themed pumpkins floating out there in social media. One of our favorites is this great Sirius Black wanted poster that we're sure Gary Oldman would love.

One wonders if, with a candle flickering behind it, it might even give off the illusion of movement, as it had in the Daily Prophet. It's a remarkably well-done piece with almost every detail that we saw in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. It's so creepy it would make me think twice about approaching it, for fear that Sirius Black might come out at me.

Next we have a great pumpkin which shows off the Hogwarts School, complete with an owl flying toward us. This one is especially remarkable as, in addition to the primary light source illuminating the entire pumpkin, we also have a few brighter points, which simulate the stars at night. I didn't even know you could do that.

On the simpler side, because this is apparently what constitutes simple in the world of pumpkin carving these days, we have a look at Harry Potter himself, with a Deathly Hallows symbol at the bottom. The recreation of Daniel Radcliffe is near perfect, it's so good that you might not even realize just how well done the piece is. The smaller image makes this feel like maybe this one took less work, but if you really look at the detail you realize that's not the case.

I still can believe that such detailed creations can be carved into the side of a gord, but it's great to see fans using the medium to show off their love for their favorite boy wizard.
