Deadpool 2 Trailer Reveals 3 New Characters

Surge Deadpool 2

The final trailer for Deadpool 2 came out this morning and with it came new information about new characters and new actors who will be part of Deadpool's new super-duper team. While we knew that new characters like Domino and Cable would be appearing in Deadpool 2, and we'd previously spotted the likes of Terry Crews, it turns out there's several more that had not been previously revealed.

The first new character is the woman in the image above. She's a young Asian woman who is swinging a long chain that she has imbued with electricity. We see her in a pair of shots in the trailer, including one standing alongside Negasonic Teenage Warhead. Based on her outfit we can guess that she's a young member of the X-Men, like Negasonic herself. While she's never given a name in the trailer, she appears to be the X-Men member known as Surge. A Japanese woman who movies to the US and ends up a member of the New Mutants in the comics.

Surge

I'm basing this on little more than ethnicity and power set, but they do seem to fit.

The next character comes from a headshot that Deadpool is going through, apparently looking for potential team members. The shot is of comedian and actor Rob Delaney. His headshot lists him only as Peter, so that doesn't tell us much about him. Ryan Reynolds had posted a picture of them from the set of Deadpool 2, so it's little surprise he's in the film. However, it appears he's actually a member of X-Force.

Peter

We see Rob Delaney again in a later shot in the trailer, this time with the same mustache he had on set. He's in the background of a shot of Domino, but between the two of them, we get one more new character. If he's not instantly recognizable, picture him wearing white clown make-up and trying to eat you. It's Bill Skarsgard, most recently of IT.

X-Force

It's not entirely obvious who he is, but, if we then look at the X-Force team shot that appears in this trailer, as well as previous ones, it now appears that Skarsgard may be the one wearing the Shatterstar mask. We recognized the character previously, but it was impossible at the time to guess who was in the role.

Check out everything new in the trailer, below.

With less than two months left before Deadpool 2, we're only now getting a real handle on the movie itself. The cast and plot are coming together. May 19 can't come soon enough.
