Jude Law Says Sherlock 2 Will Film Sometime This Year

While Jude Law didn't have as much information about Sherlock Holmes as Liev Schreiber did about his own upcoming sequel, we were able to press the erstwhile Dr. Watson for a few details at today's press conference for Repo Men.

He was very careful not to say anything was for certain, but admitted that as soon as Sherlock Holmes became a box office hit, "We started throwing out ideas of where it could go and what should happen next. Mine of course involved Sherlock HoImes being locked in a box and Dr. Watson..." He then pumped up his arms into a heroic stance and got a big laugh from the assembled press.

The closest he came to admitting there was a sequel was saying, "I don't know for sure, but I think we are probably doing another one. I think it's sometime this year." Of course, his co-star Robert Downey Jr. has already had to bail on one project in order to film Sherlock 2, so Law is being very, very cautious at this point. When discussing other projects, he said he was considering doing a play in London either this summer or early next year, and also mentioned shooting for 10 days on Steven Soderbergh's Contagion at the end of this year. Does that mean that the Holmes shoot will fit into late summer and early fall? Sounds like it from here.
