Winnie The Pooh Advertises His Return To Theaters With A New Trailer

Disney is bringing Winnie the Pooh back to theaters next summer in an all new adventure which, well, looks a lot like his old adventure. The hand-drawn film’s first trailer has arrived and while it’s pretty effective, I can’t quite shake the feeling that I’ve seen this before. It seems much like the original. In fact if Disney hadn’t sent me a press release telling me this is a new Winnie the Pooh, I’d have assumed this was just a re-release of the 1966 Winnie the Pooh.

So what’s the difference? I’m not entirely sure. Maybe it’s supposed to be familiar, maybe they’re trading on nostalgia here, to get people interested. If so, this trailer’s incredibly effective. It does that well. It’ll bring back fond memories for anyone who grew up with Winnie the Pooh and Tigger too in their lives. Take a look:

You definitely can’t say they haven’t been faithful to the spirit of the classic Pooh stories we all remember. Winnie the Pooh arrives in theaters July 15, 2011. I know, summer seems like a strange time to release a film like this, but there you have it. For more on Winnie the Pooh visit the Blend Film Database.
