Comic Con In Video: Katey Gets Sharkbitten With The Cast Of Shark Night 3D
Getting a jump on nearly every other studio trying to get attention for their movies with crazy stunts, Relativity Media threw a party last night in honor of Shark Night 3D, the latest water-based experiment in horror from Snakes on a Plane and The Final Destination director David R. Ellis. Ellis and his young, nubile, shark-bitten cast were on hand for interviews, but they were probably overshadowed by the fun and games, which included a mechanical shark-- kinda like a mechanical bull, with fins-- and a photo booth in which you could have your arm bitten off by a shark. You know, Photoshop-style.
Because interviews in this context are always a little crazy, my conversations with Ellis, Katherine McPhee, Sara Paxton and Dustin Milligan were kind of a team effort-- Roth Cornet and I sat on the shark to record an intro video together (using two cameras, which explains some of the weirdness you'll see) and Jordan Hoffman and I teamed up to ask the actors and directors a bunch of silly questions that they were kind enough to answer. You can also get a gander at the giant inflatable Smurf that appears to be threatening to eat a bunch of innocent pedestrians-- maybe not Sony's intention in promoting their new movie, but hilarious all the same. Check it all out in the video below, and for the rest of Cinema Blend's ongoing Comic Con coverage, go here.
