American Reunion Red-Band Teaser Has Trouble With Tube Socks

Hot on the heels of the slew of new images released yesterday, MSN has premiered another new teaser for American Reunion, showing off an actual scene as opposed to the charming photobooth teaser from last month. You knew it was only a matter of time before the marketing for this movie got raunchy, fast, and if you thought that Jason Biggs's character Jim would give up his masturbation mishaps now that he's married with a kid, well… just watch the NSFW teaser below to see what happens next.

It's been so long since American Pie came out that I think it's easy to mis-remember what the original movie was, assume it was just obnoxious horny guys talking about sex all the time while trying to get with improbably beautiful women and making fun of the geeky band camp chick. But the first movie especially was far wittier, and had a lot more heart, than most of the movies that tried to knock it off (and, let's admit it, the sequels too). We see a lot of that in just this short clip-- it's clear that Jim and Michelle (Allyson Hannigan) are happily married, but also that they're not quite ready to give up their, uh, solo time. And even though the kid walks in on something no kid should ever, ever have to see, you can tell in a quick instant that Jim loves his kid and doesn't just see him as a roadblock to his online porn selection.

American Reunion is directed by Harold & Kumar directors Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, and given how well they navigated serious raunch with a touch of heart in those films, there's good reason to expect the same from them here. American Reunion may indeed just be an attempt to dig nostalgia out of my generation now old enough for our own 10-year reunions, but that's fine by me-- I've been successfully targeted and I'm in. American Reunion hits theaters April 6 next year.
